TN Tennessee Map and Weather Week
A four-day Tennessee geography sequence for fourth and fifth graders, with one short weather investigation that continues through the week. The lessons use Maryville as the starting point and move from map skills to the state's Grand Divisions, real weather data, and a statehood timeline.
Simple weekly rhythm
- Trace Tennessee from Maryville to Memphis and practice direction, scale, and map keys.
- Label East, Middle, and West Tennessee and compare their major land regions.
- Begin a five-day weather table for Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis.
- Build a timeline from the Southwest Territory to Tennessee statehood.
Return to the weather table for about five minutes each day, then finish with a claim, evidence, and limit. The sequence takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes on the main lesson days. A printed map helps, but a screen map and hand-drawn table work too. Skip the longer statehood extension when you need a lighter week.
