π‘ Maryville Is Our Classroom
A flexible local-learning week that helps children notice the town around them. Use the lessons in order or choose the ones that fit your ages, weather, and schedule.
Simple weekly rhythm
- Draw or describe where you live and what makes a town work.
- Learn about community helpers around Maryville.
- Study Maryville as a town and locate familiar places.
- Keep weather notes and compare what you observe from day to day.
- Finish with a nature-journal page at a park, greenway, or your own backyard.
You do not need a formal field trip every day. A library stop, neighborhood walk, conversation in the car, or twenty minutes outside can be enough. Younger children can draw and talk; older children can label maps, write observations, and look up one question using an official local source.
