Mid-June in Maryville: Whats Still Open, Whats Closing, and What To Do Next
The first half of summer is wrapping up, and the Maryville area is still humming with kid-friendly activities. Here is what you need to know if you are figuring out the second half of June — what is still open, what is winding down, and where to sign up next.
Summer Camps: Wrap-Up Week
Most Blount County Parks & Rec summer day camps run through July 3. If you have not already registered, there may still be last spots opening up in overflow sessions. The parks rec site (parksrec.com) is the main source — call (865) 983-9244 for availability.
The YMCA summer day camp at 1033 S. Broadway, Maryville runs through early July as well. The Gateway Region YMCA site (gwrymca.org) has registration details. Check directly for current sessions.
YMCA Camp Montvale at 209 E. Franklin St, Alcoa runs longer into the summer. More at ymcaetn.org.
Pools and Splash Pads: Peak Season
John Sevier Pool (open since May 15) and Springbrook Pool (open since May 22) are in full swing through the summer. Season passes are available. Splash pads across Maryville and Blount County are all running — we have a complete splash pad guide with every location, hours, and what to bring.
Free Outdoor Concerts Still Going
The Levitt AMP Maryville concert series runs every Thursday evening through July 30 at Jack Greene Park on Court Street. Gates open at 5:30 PM, music starts at 7 PM. These are free, family-friendly, and bring a great community energy. You can bring lawn chairs or blankets — food trucks and local vendors usually show up too. The series runs until July 30.
Maryville Farmers Market: Saturday Mornings
The farmers market at Founders Square is going strong — Saturday mornings, 9 AM to 1 PM. There are always activities for kids, and it is a great way to start a weekend. Hours and vendor info at the downtown Maryville site.
Dollywood Splash Country
Dollywood Splash Country is open through the summer at Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge. Tickets are sold separately from theme park admission. Check their site (dollywood.com) for seasonal hours.
Library Summer Reading
Blount County Public Library summer reading programs are ongoing. Check-ins happen at the library on 200 Public Library Lane, Maryville, or call (865) 983-5408. Summer reading for all ages — prizes, reading challenges, and special events throughout June and July.
What Is Closing or Changing
Some programs end after the first week of July. Keep an eye on your camp registration for checkout dates. Blount County Parks & Rec summer camps wrap up July 3 — make sure you know your final day.
Homeschool families: if you were looking at late-summer programs, the Blount County Library and Van Metre School of Dance typically run fall programs starting in August. Check both for registration dates.
Bottom line: June is still wide open for Maryville families. The pools, splash pads, concerts, and farmers market are all in full swing. Summer camps run through early July. If you are planning around the second half of June, you have plenty of options.
