Maryville Splash Pads 2026: Where the Kids Can Cool Off Right Now
It is June and it is already hot enough that the kids are asking about water every single afternoon. Here are all the splash pad locations in Maryville and Blount County that are running right now, with addresses and practical details.
Sandy Springs Park
Address: 702 Best St, Maryville, TN 37804
This is the newest splash pad in the county. Maryville officials approved it in early 2026 and the construction has been moving forward. If it is operational this season, it will be a big deal for families in the eastern part of town. The park itself is nice — walking trails, a playground, picnic pavilion, and restrooms. Worth checking the Blount County Parks website for confirmation that the water feature is live.
John Sevier Park
Address: 1998 Sequoyah Ave, Maryville, TN 37804
The splash pad here is right at the same location as the pool, which makes it easy — you can grab a day pass for the pool and the kids can burn off energy on the splash pad while you cool off. There is a big playground nearby, a pavilion for shade, and lighted tennis courts in case older kids want to shoot around. The splash pad runs during the summer pool season, typically open daily when the weather calls for it. Restrooms are on site.
Amerine Park
Address: 412 Amerine Rd, Maryville, TN 37804
Amerine Park has water features that serve the family crowd well. It is a popular park — pavilions, a playground, and open space. The splash pad area gives little kids somewhere safe to play without the commitment of a pool day pass. Bring a towel and water shoes; the splash pad surface can get warm.
Pearson Springs Park
Address: 1467 Montvale Station Rd, Maryville, TN 37804
Pearson Springs is one of the bigger parks in the county and has a playground plus open space. Water features here tend to be smaller than the main park pads, but they work well for younger kids who want a quick cool-down session. The park is well-maintained and has restrooms. Good combined with a short hike or picnic.
Springbrook Park
Address: 1537 Dalton St, Alcoa, TN 37701
Across the line in Alcoa, Springbrook Park has the recreation center and pool nearby, similar setup to John Sevier. The splash pad area is part of the aquatic complex and runs on the same seasonal schedule as the pool — generally open daily during summer months.
When the Water Is Actually On
Splash pads in Blount County typically operate daily during the summer season, usually from late May through August. They run most actively between late morning and evening on hot days. The system is temperature-dependent — if it is not above about 80 degrees, some locations may hold off.
There is no separate fee for splash pads; they are free with park access. The main thing to check is whether the water is currently running, which you can do by calling the Blount County Parks & Rec office at (865) 983-9244 or checking their website for today status.
What to Bring
- Water shoes or flip-flops (the splash pad surface gets hot)
- Towels for each kid
- Sunscreen and hats
- Snacks and water — not all parks have food trucks on site
- A change of clothes
- Lawn chair or blanket if you plan to stay for a while (shade can be limited)
A Quick Note on Timing
Mornings are less crowded and the water is fresh from the system. Late afternoon is when every kid in town shows up. If you want the splash pad mostly to yourself, aim for before 11am or after 6pm on weekdays.
This is not an exhaustive list — if you know of a splash pad location that is not here, drop a note and I will get it added.
Also Worth Knowing
Knox County splash pads at Carl Cowan Park, Powell Station, New Harvest, and French Memorial all opened May 15 and are running. If you are already heading into Knoxville for errands or an event, they are easy additions to the day.
And of course, the pools at John Sevier and Springbrook are both open through August if you want the full swim experience alongside the splash pad.
