Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum
A 44-acre public garden on the site of the former Howell Nurseries, just five minutes from downtown Knoxville and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Kids can spend a full morning here: over two miles of walking trails, display gardens, a bird sanctuary, sculpture, and the garden’s famous stone walls. The historic Howell House Visitors Center has a gift shop, public restrooms, and a map to start your wander. There is a Labor Day Sunflower Project (a big kid favorite) and seasonal events throughout the year. Free and open every day, dawn to dusk — visitors center and gift shop daily 9 am–5 pm.
