The Blount Inclusive Playground at John Sevier Park is the first fully accessible playground of its kind in the region. Opened in 2021, it was a collaborative project between the Maryville Lions Club, The Arc of the Great Smoky Mountains, and Blount County Parks & Recreation.
The playground features a fenced-in, rubber-mulch play area with equipment designed for children of all ages and abilities, including kids in wheelchairs. Ramps, transfer stations, and sensory panels make it welcoming for children with physical or cognitive disabilities. The park also has restrooms, picnic tables, charcoal grills, tennis courts, and basketball courts.
It is located across from John Sevier Elementary School in a shaded, tree-covered setting that is easy to reach from W Broadway Ave. Free admission, open during park hours (dawn to dusk).
