The Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology is Knoxville's hands-on science museum - perfect for curious kids and families who love exploring. Located at World's Fair Park, it's an easy add-on to your downtown Knoxville visit.

What makes it special: The MOST lets kids actually touch and interact with exhibits. From the National Grid ExploraDome planetarium shows to the 4D theater, there are experiences that stick with you. Their summer camps (Junior Scientist and Be the Scientist) are fantastic for kids who ask lots of questions.

Practical details: Regular hours are Thursday-Sunday, 9:30am-5pm. Sensory-friendly time is the 3rd Sunday of each month, 9-11am and 4-6pm. They're closed Monday-Wednesday, which is actually kind of perfect for avoiding the crowds - go on a weekend morning when everyone else is at church.

Pro tip: Get a membership if you visit regularly. Free parking and admission alone pays for itself after 2-3 visits, plus you get discounts on camps and parties.

Location note: It's right at World's Fair Park, so you can combine it with the Knoxville Zoo (also at the park) for a full day of science and animals.
