Foothills Forest School is a nature-based education program right here in Maryville, TN. They offer a true forest school model where kids learn through hands-on outdoor experiences, play, and curiosity-led discovery.
Programs for ages 3β12:
- Forest Preschool (ages 3β5): Two half-day sessions per week, 9 AMβ2 PM. $350/month. Focuses on social-emotional development, nature exploration, mindfulness, and free play.
- Forest K/1 (Kindergartenβ1st grade): MondayβThursday, 9 AMβ2 PM. $950/month. A certified TN teacher leads this program with low student ratios, blending structured academics aligned with Tennessee State Standards with open-ended forest exploration.
- Homeschool Enrichment (ages ~6β12+): Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9 AMβ2 PM. $350/month for both days, $175/month for one day. Deepens nature connection through naturalist and primitive skills, wildcrafting, reading, storytelling, and scientific inquiry.
The school operates at Montvale Springs in Maryville. Classes follow the Blount County Schools calendar.
