The Apple Barn & Cider Mill
A beloved East Tennessee family farm that has welcomed visitors to Sevierville for 50 years, The Apple Barn & Cider Mill sits on a riverside orchard in the shade of the Smokies. It is a full-day stop for families: watch cider, candy, and ice cream being made, sample fresh-pressed apple cider at the Cider Bar, pick up homemade pies, apple butter, and fritters in the General Store, and grab homemade ice cream at The Creamery. The farm grows more than 7,000 apple trees, with peak apple season running from late August through October.
Kids love wandering the farm, walking along the Little Pigeon River, and watching the candy-making operation in the Candy Factory. In the fall, The Apple Barn hosts its festival weekends (the 50th-anniversary Apple Festival runs October 2-4 and October 9-11, 2026, with free admission).
The Apple Barn is a little over half an hour from Maryville and makes a rewarding day trip. Note that this is the farm location at 230 Apple Valley Road in Sevierville; the adjacent Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and Apple Barn Winery are nearby stops for the grown-ups in your group.
