Safety City is a free, hands-on safety education attraction for kids in the Knoxville area. Run by the Knoxville Police Department in partnership with City of Knoxville Parks & Recreation, it features a miniature city where elementary-aged children can practice and demonstrate real-world safety skills.
The program includes child-size buildings complete with paved streets and sidewalks, working traffic signals and traffic signs, and participatory activities that teach kids about vehicular, pedestrian, bicycle, and fire safety. Kids can ride their bicycles or scooters around the miniature city and learn in a fun, interactive environment.
