The seventh annual Heroes for Hope 5K & Kids Fun Run is this Saturday, April 25th at the Maryville Greenbelt Amphitheater. This is one of the most meaningful family-friendly events in Maryville — it is a fundraiser for New Hope Children's Advocacy Center, which serves abused and traumatized children and their families in Blount County. Last year over 300 participants raised more than $26,000.

What to expect:

  • Fun Run at 8:00am — kids 10 and under
  • 5K at 8:30am — adults and kids 10 and under
  • Virtual 5K option — run anywhere, any time on April 25th
  • Packets available for pickup Friday, April 24 from 3-6pm at the Greenbelt Pavilion
  • Check-in on race day: 7:30-8:15am at the pavilion

This is a great way to get some early Saturday morning exercise while supporting a cause that directly helps local kids. Registration is still open — sign up here. If you registered by April 10th, you should have gotten a t-shirt; registrations after April 11th are not guaranteed one.

All proceeds go to New Hope Children's Advocacy Center, which served 579 children in 2025. They provide forensic interviews, medical exams, advocacy and therapy — all at no charge to families.
