The annual Duck Pond Fishing Derby for Kids is a Blount County Parks & Rec tradition that brings families together every early June. This year it runs Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Alcoa Duck Pond (1300 Springbrook Rd, Alcoa, TN).
Open to ages 3–15, the derby features age-divided trophy prizes for the largest fish and most fish caught, plus goody bags, free shaved ice, and door prizes with a grand prize up for grabs. There is a games area and free play after weigh-in. No fishing license is needed on event day.
Cost: $10 if registered by 3 PM Friday, June 5. $15 on event day. Check-in: 7:00–8:00 AM at the large tent Fishing: 8:00–11:15 AM (times vary by age group) Awards: Around 11:45 AM
