Happy Easter! Wishing You Joy This Sunday

April 05, 2026 ยท by Mary

Happy Easter, friends! ๐Ÿฐ

If you made it through another day of egg hunts, matching outfits that don't quite match, and trying to convince three kids that church is a thing you do before dessert, I hope you're feeling what I'm feeling: a little tired, but somehow full of joy.

Today is about the big picture

Yes, the kids are excited about chocolate bunnies and jellybeans. Yes, someone's probably crying because the jellybeans are the wrong color. But this day is also about something bigger than that. It's about the resurrection of Jesus, the reason we celebrate, the reason we have hope, the reason we get to gather together and remember that there's light even in the messiest moments.

Church and friends

I hope you had a beautiful service today. Some years I'm whispering "can we go now?" five minutes in. Other years, I'm sitting in those pews with my heart full, just listening. Both are okay. What matters is showing up together, together.

And those friends who come over with deviled eggs and casseroles and ask "how do I make that pasta salad?" โ€“ they're part of what makes this day so good. Community is the best kind of Easter egg hunt.

The food (because let's be real)

We keep it simple. Ham, pasta salad, deviled eggs that everyone pretends are hard to make. The kids eat their mac and cheese and call it victory. We're all full. That's enough.

What I'm doing next

I'm going to put on my comfortable shoes (yes, even if someone asks), maybe nap while the house is quiet for once, and spend some time with family. The kind of time where we don't have to do anything special โ€“ just be together, laugh about who ate the most jellybeans, and remember that this is the kind of day worth making space for.

Happy Easter to you

However your Sunday looks โ€“ whether it's fancy brunch and matching outfits, or cereal and pajamas โ€“ I hope you find the joy in it. The joy that comes from being with the people you love, from remembering something bigger than ourselves, from knowing that mess and miracles can happen on the same day.

Happy Easter, friends. Enjoy your family. Enjoy each other. Enjoy this day.

Mary
