April 2026 Events Calendar: 10+ Family-Friendly Festivals in Maryville & Knoxville

April is one of those months where Maryville finally starts showing off. The dogwoods wake up, the parks feel alive again, and suddenly every weekend has three things you want to do at the exact same time.

I pulled together the family-friendly April events that look most useful for local parents, with Maryville first and Knoxville secondary. If you are trying to plan a fun weekend without endlessly bouncing between Facebook events and city calendars, this is your shortcut.

Maryville-area picks first

Blount County Farmers' Market

A reliable spring staple if your kids like samples, snacks, fresh air, and wandering around while you pretend you are going to cook something ambitious with local produce.

Maryville Farmers' Market

Another easy local outing that works especially well with younger kids because you can keep it short and sweet. This is a nice “get out of the house without overcommitting” event.

3rd Thursday Downtown Maryville

If you like family-friendly downtown energy, this is one to watch. These evenings usually bring music, foot traffic, shops staying open later, and a good excuse to stroll downtown with a treat in hand.

Clayton Center for the Arts events

Clayton Center is one of my favorite “we want to do something cultural but not stuffy” resources for local families. Depending on the calendar, you may find concerts, theater, youth performances, or special spring programming.

Maryville College spring performances

Maryville College often has concerts, theater, and seasonal events that are worth checking, especially if you have older kids who enjoy music or performance.

Parkway Drive-In

Not a festival, but absolutely an April family event option once the weather turns pleasant. A drive-in night can feel like a tiny adventure without requiring a full vacation budget.

Worth the Knoxville-area drive

Dogwood Arts Festival

This is one of the biggest spring traditions in the region for a reason. If your family likes art, live performances, food vendors, and people-watching, it is a classic. It can get busy, so I would go early if you have stroller-age kids.

Rossini Festival International Street Fair

This one brings a lot of energy, street performances, and downtown Knoxville buzz. It is a better fit for families who enjoy bigger crowds and more festival chaos in the best way.

Knoxville Botanical Garden events

Spring is a beautiful time to do anything botanical-garden related, especially if you have kids who like walking paths, flowers, and space to explore without being trapped indoors.

Seasonal wild cards to keep on your radar

Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival & Games

If your family likes big open-air events with demonstrations, music, and a totally different flavor than the usual kids’ festival, this one is fun and memorable.

Outdoor concerts and spring festivals

April is also when more one-off outdoor music nights, brewery lawn events, park programs, and community festivals start appearing. Maryville and Blount County calendars can shift quickly, so it is smart to double-check details the week you plan to go.

Easy planning tip

If you have little kids, do one “anchor event” per weekend instead of trying to stack three things into one day. April makes us all feel overconfident, and then somebody melts down in a parking lot because they skipped lunch. Ask me how I know.

Best bets by family mood

I will keep adding and tightening this calendar as more April details get confirmed, but this gives you a solid place to start right now.
